My name is Sonya Perez-Lauterbach, and I’m passionate about helping individuals and organizations navigate change well. Change is inevitable, but there are evidence-based approaches to ease the transition. Whether you’re looking for a new job, wanting to take on the challenge of a promotion, or tasked with leading your organization through a culture change or period of growth, I’m here to help.
The first part of my career at an international nonprofit showered me with lots of change. I saw five CEO transitions in six years, experienced three organizational restructurings and two rounds of layoffs. As an ‘intreprenuer’ I personally lead the development of a new program which challenged elements of the long-standing organizational culture and required careful navigation with stakeholders. Needless to say, I witnessed some change mistakes and made plenty of my own along the way. Looking back, I wish I knew then what I know now about change management and I wish I had employed a coach to walk with me through those changes.
Since that time I earned a M.S. in Learning & Organizational Change from Northwestern University and have had the privilege of working with several organizations and individuals to improve their change experience.
In addition to my coaching practice, I spend my time working as a collaborator with Triad Resource Group, loving on and taking care of my one year old son, working on house projects, and volunteering with local initiatives, such as StartUp Peoria.
On my blog you might find me geeking out about such topics as social innovation, entrepreneurship, mental models, positive psychology, and social justice, to name a few.
